I find it really obnoxious that you don’t understand what being poor means but I can explain.
A) In a world with 5 kids, it is IMPERATIVE that you have a cell phone and one with good coverage, other wise you risk not being able to dial 911 in a back ally (there are dead zones in cities do not think otherwise) or being able to receive a call that your kid has been hurt in school/daycare etc. So if you have a phone, especially if you’re making frequent calls its best to go with a popular provider. Fiona has an iPhone because you can get one for FREE with a 2 year subscription to ATT.
B) Debbie’s converse most likely were purchased at a thrift store. My gram raised me and my four cousins (just like Fiona did) and she did it with only one working person in the family. I got ALL my clothes from thrift stores. I wore Aeropostale, I wore American Eagle, I just got them for 1$ a shirt, reused.
Being poor does not mean not having “first world” items, it means even when you take every single bargain deal that you still struggle to make ends meet.
